Terms of Service

Terms of Service

Origins Curriculum Inc. | Last Updated: October 29, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Origins Curriculum Inc. ("Origins," "we," "us," or "our"). They apply to originscurriculum.com and to every program, subscription, membership, course, product, live class, and session we offer (together, the "Services"). By creating an account, signing up for a free program, making a purchase, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. Please read them carefully.

Some programs come with additional terms, such as our Bloom, Sprout, and Trellis Membership Terms or a school or organization license. If those additional terms conflict with these Terms, the additional terms control for that program.

1. Accounts and Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account or make a purchase.
  • You agree to give accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for your account, your login credentials, and all activity under your account. Let us know right away if you believe your account has been used without permission.
  • Each account is for one household. Children may use our materials under the supervision of a parent, guardian, or educator. If you give your child access to your account, you are responsible for supervising that use.

2. Our Programs

We offer the following types of programs. The features, pricing, schedules, and any trial or guarantee period for each program are described on its program page, at checkout, or in its membership terms at the time of purchase.

  • Seed: a curriculum that is free for the first six months, then $35 per month.
  • Sprout: a self-guided curriculum membership, billed monthly or annually.
  • Bloom: a premium, 12-month concierge membership with live classes, mentorship, community, and printed materials.
  • Trellis: a monthly homeschool support membership for families using any curriculum, offered in several tiers.
  • One-time purchases: courses, certifications, one-on-one sessions, digital downloads, and physical products.
  • School and organization licenses: for schools, microschools, co-ops, and other organizations.

We regularly improve our programs and may update content, features, schedules, and educators over time. We will not materially reduce the core of a paid program during a term you have already paid for without giving you notice and, where appropriate, a credit or partial refund.

3. Payment and Billing

  • Prices are in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise. You are responsible for any applicable taxes, and for any currency conversion or foreign transaction fees charged by your bank.
  • By making a purchase, you authorize us and our payment processors to charge your payment method for the initial payment and for all recurring payments, installments, and renewals described in these Terms, in your program's membership terms, and at checkout.
  • Some programs may include a card processing fee, which will be disclosed at checkout, on your invoice, or in your program's membership terms.
  • If a payment fails, we will notify you and may retry the charge. We may pause your access until your payment method is updated.
  • You remain responsible for any amounts you owe. Unpaid balances may be referred to a collection agency, and you agree to pay reasonable collection costs where the law allows.
  • We may change our prices. Price changes for an existing subscription take effect at your next renewal, and we will notify you in advance. Any price lock you received, such as a founding member rate, applies according to the terms of that offer.

Chargebacks. If you have a billing concern, please contact us first at [email protected] so we can make it right. Filing a chargeback or payment dispute for a valid charge is a breach of these Terms and may result in loss of access to the Services and collection of the disputed amount.

Education savings accounts and third-party funding. If you pay through an education savings account (ESA), ClassWallet, or another third-party funding program, that program's rules also apply. You are responsible for confirming your eligibility and the program's approval. If a payment is denied, reversed, or not approved, you are responsible for paying the balance directly.

4. Seed

Seed is free for the first six months and requires no payment to start. After six months, you may continue Seed at $35 per month or move to another program. If you don't choose to continue, your Seed access ends and you are not charged. We may change, limit, or discontinue Seed or any free content at any time. All other parts of these Terms, including the license and conduct rules, apply to Seed.

5. Trials

Some paid programs, such as Sprout, begin with a low-cost trial month. The standard Sprout trial is $9.99. From time to time we offer the trial at a different promotional price, and the price you pay is the one shown at checkout when you sign up. Trials require a valid payment method. When the trial ends, your account automatically converts to the paid plan you selected and your payment method will be charged, unless you cancel by the deadline in your program's membership terms. Trial payments are non-refundable, and trials are limited to one per household.

6. Subscriptions, Renewals, and Cancellation

6.1 Monthly subscriptions. Monthly subscriptions, including Sprout monthly and Trellis, are billed every month starting on your sign-up date until you cancel. You may cancel at any time, subject to any notice period in your program's membership terms. Your cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep access until then. We do not provide refunds or credits for partial months.

6.2 Annual subscriptions. Annual subscriptions, including Sprout annual, are a 12-month commitment, whether you pay in full or in monthly installments.

  • Paid in full: after any trial or guarantee period has ended, annual payments are non-refundable.
  • Paid in installments: you agree to pay all installments for the 12-month term, even if you stop using the program. Canceling stops your subscription from renewing but does not cancel the remaining installments for the current term.

6.3 Automatic renewal. Unless you cancel, your subscription automatically renews for the same term length (monthly or annual) at the then-current price, or at your locked rate if one applies, and is charged to the payment method on file. For annual subscriptions, we will send you a reminder before your renewal date.

6.4 How to cancel. You may cancel by emailing [email protected] or by using any cancellation option we provide in your account. To avoid being charged for the next term, your cancellation must be received before your renewal date, or by any earlier deadline stated in your program's membership terms.

7. Bloom Membership

Bloom is governed by these Terms and by the Bloom Membership Terms you accept at enrollment. If the two conflict, the Bloom Membership Terms control. In summary:

  • 12-month commitment: Bloom is a 12-month membership, paid in full or in monthly payments.
  • 30-day Love It Guarantee: you may cancel within 30 days of your enrollment date for a refund of the amounts you have paid, minus non-refundable fees for materials already produced or shipped, as stated in the Bloom Membership Terms.
  • After 30 days: you are committed to the full 12-month term, and all remaining payments for that term are due whether or not you use the membership.
  • Renewal: Bloom renews as stated in the Bloom Membership Terms.
  • Founding Family rate: if you enrolled under a Founding Family or other price-lock offer, your rate is governed by the terms of that offer.

8. One-Time Purchases

8.1 Courses, certifications, and digital products. Access to courses, certifications, and digital products begins at purchase. Because digital content is delivered immediately, these purchases are final and non-refundable unless stated otherwise at checkout or required by law. Unless a specific access period is stated at purchase, you will have access for as long as we continue to offer the product.

Certificates and credentials issued by Origins recognize completion of an Origins program. They are not a government-issued teaching license or academic credit. We may revoke a credential that was obtained or used in violation of these Terms.

8.2 One-on-one sessions. One-on-one sessions are paid in full at the time of booking. You may cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours before your session. Sessions canceled within 48 hours, and missed sessions, are forfeited and not refunded. If we need to cancel a session, we will reschedule it or refund you.

8.3 Printed materials and physical products. Shipping times are estimates and may vary. We are not responsible for carrier delays. Printed curriculum is produced for your order and cannot be returned, but if an item arrives damaged, incorrect, or does not arrive, contact us within 14 days of the expected delivery date and we will replace it. International customers are responsible for any customs fees, duties, and import taxes.

9. Schools and Organizations

Family subscriptions are licensed for use within a single household. Using our curriculum with students outside your household, including in a school, microschool, co-op, pod, learning center, or business, requires an organization license. Organization licenses are governed by their own agreement, which controls if it conflicts with these Terms.

10. Live Classes, Community, and Conduct

  • Live classes, calls, and community spaces are meant to be warm and respectful. Harassment, hateful content, spam, or unapproved promotion is not allowed. We may remove anyone from a class, call, or community space at our discretion.
  • Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children during live classes and while online.
  • Live classes are recorded and shared as replays only with members of that program in a private, members-only area. By joining a live class, you consent, for yourself and your child, to appearing in that recording. You may keep your child's camera off or use a first name only.
  • You may not record, screenshot, download, or share live classes, replays, or other families' names, images, or information.
  • Class schedules may change. Missed live classes are not refunded or credited, and replays are available when a class is recorded.
  • You keep ownership of anything you post in our community spaces. You give us permission to display it within the Services.

11. Our Intellectual Property and Your License

All curriculum, lessons, videos, printables, course materials, graphics, and trademarks in the Services are owned by Origins Curriculum Inc. and protected by copyright and other laws.

While you have access to a program, we give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use its materials for your own household's non-commercial education. You may print materials for use within your household. You may not:

  • Share your login or give access to anyone outside your household
  • Copy, distribute, sell, publicly post, or upload our materials to other websites or platforms
  • Upload our materials to artificial intelligence tools or use them to train artificial intelligence models
  • Create products, courses, or curriculum for sale based on our materials
  • Use our materials with students outside your household without an organization license
  • Remove any copyright or ownership notices

Your license to digital materials ends when your access ends. You may keep printed materials you received for continued use within your household.

Our affiliate program is governed by separate affiliate terms.

12. Your Role as Your Child's Educator

You are responsible for your child's education, including following the homeschool laws and reporting requirements where you live. Grade levels in our curriculum are guides, and you decide what fits your child. We do not guarantee any particular academic outcome, test score, placement, or acceptance by any school or program.

Guest experts and practitioners in our programs share general educational information. Nothing in the Services is medical, therapeutic, psychological, or legal advice. Please consult a qualified professional about your child's individual needs.

13. Outdoor and Hands-On Activities

Our curriculum includes outdoor, nature-based, and hands-on activities, which may involve weather, water, terrain, plants, animals, insects, tools, cooking, and craft materials. These activities carry risks. You agree that:

  • An adult will supervise all activities.
  • You will decide whether each activity is safe and suitable for your child, your location, and current conditions, including allergies and health needs.
  • No one will eat or handle any wild plant, mushroom, or berry unless a qualified adult has positively identified it as safe.
  • You choose to participate at your own risk, and to the fullest extent the law allows, Origins is not responsible for injury, illness, or property damage arising from these activities.

14. Third-Party Services

The Services rely on third-party tools, such as video platforms, payment processors, and shipping carriers, and may link to outside resources. We are not responsible for third-party services, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms.

15. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Origins and its owners, employees, educators, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

17. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold harmless Origins and its owners, employees, educators, and contractors from any claims, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Services.

18. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or end your access to the Services if you violate these Terms, misuse our materials, fail to pay, or behave in a way that harms our community. If we end your access for a violation, no refund is owed. If we end your access for any other reason, we will refund any prepaid amount for the unused portion of your term.

19. Disputes and Governing Law

If you have a concern, please email us first at [email protected]. We will try in good faith to resolve it within 30 days. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Missoula County, Montana, and you consent to that jurisdiction. Either of us may bring a qualifying claim in small claims court.

20. International Customers

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of the country or province where you live.

  • Australia: our Services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Any limitation or exclusion in these Terms applies only to the extent the Australian Consumer Law allows.
  • United Kingdom and European Union: you may have a 14-day right to cancel online purchases. For digital content and services that begin right away, you agree that we may begin immediately, and you acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel once access to digital content begins. For services, you will pay for any portion you have used before canceling.
  • Canada: these Terms apply subject to the consumer protection laws of your province.

21. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the Last Updated date above, and for significant changes we will give additional notice, such as by email or a notice on our website. Continuing to use the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. Changes will not affect amounts or commitments already agreed to for a current paid term unless the law requires.

22. General

  • These Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any program-specific membership terms are the entire agreement between you and Origins about the Services.
  • If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
  • Our failure to enforce any part of these Terms is not a waiver.
  • You may not transfer your account or these Terms. We may transfer them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business.
  • We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
  • We may send you notices by email to the address on your account.
